U.S. banks think the best way to make the experience less painful withdrawal of the money as possible. Not for your wallet (as it needs to charge you the amount withdrawn), but for the practical aspect of it.
And the chosen solution would seem to be that of mobile!
The three partner banks are indeed in the process of testing an application that allows customers to make withdrawals without having to leave their credit card. Called Card less Cash Access, this application would make withdrawals from the machine with a simple QR code.
Specifically, a customer may request a withdrawal from his mobile, which will generate a QR code before a reader fitted to the distributor machine. And after the readers read the message and authenticate it. The distributor sends the money out of the machine!
