Smart Speaker Review: Stay Tuned for the Best Smart Speaker

Smart Speaker Review: Best Smart Speaker Sonos
Many of you might remember the ‘Jetsons’ on Cartoon Network, the stuff of children’s imagination, and the future. Well, now we have a slice of that future too with smart speakers. We may not have a robot butler hanging around to fulfill our every wish just yet, but we are getting there. So, for now, we’ll just have to make do with what we have – smart speakers. Google Home, Amazon Echo, and Apple HomePod are some of the few smart speakers doing the rounds in the market. According to US statistics, nearly 26.2% of the US population owns smart speakers. Smart speakers allow you to switch things off/On with your voice, you can ask questions of it and control almost every aspect of your living space. In this smart speaker review, we’ll be seeing all that there is to know of smart speakers as well as some of the best.

Smart Speaker Review 2019

First of All, What Can Smart speakers Actually Do?

So as the name suggests, they’re speakers. They play music and sound but besides that, they also do much more. Besides involves having a smart assistant built-in. These smart assistants are voice-activated. This means that you’ll be able to tell your smart assistant to perhaps, answer a question, play music or control other IoT devices i,n the house.

On to Look at the Best Voice Assistant to have in your speaker:

We aren’t going to say which is the best. That is completely subjective. But we will tell you some of the trends in this smart speaker review. Apple has always been among the favorites, consequently, Siri has become a household favorite too. But it also helps that Siri has been in the market for quite some time now in other Apple Devices. Some people swear by Alexa. So as soon as Amazon’s echo dropped, people were all on that. But overall, many prefer Google Assistant. Many people feel that the assistant with Google is the most accurate. But of course, these are all people's personal choices; yours may vary.

If you’re going for Sound- Pick the Sonos One Smart Speaker Review:

In this smart speaker review, this is the best sounding speaker you can lay your hands on. This speaker gives you the best of both worlds with the smart Alexa on one hand and Sound Quality with Sonos on the other. On the one side, you get the ever-improving Alexa as a voice assistant and on the other, you have Sonos with its multi-room smarts. This feature-rich speaker has even got AirPlay2. This basically allows the Sonos speaker to communicate with Siri sitting inside a HomePod from another room. So Sonos becomes the most versatile speaker on this smart speaker review too. A disadvantage with this speaker is that Google Assistant is still nowhere to be seen. We were hoping it would make an appearance in the November 2018 update, but we’re still waiting now in 2019 as well. If Google does happen to launch in the Sonos smart speaker, then hands down, we can say this smart speaker is the best.

Apple HomePod- a Merging of smarts with Sound Quality:

Smart Speaker Review Apple HomePod
If you happen to be a die-hard Apple fan and have all its gadgets lying around, then getting an Apple HomePod is a no brainer. The problem with this speaker is not its sound or Siri, it’s the premium you have to pay to get a smart speaker that only fits well into the Apple ecosystem. Is it really worth it? When it comes to sound quality, you can’t really complain but with Siri, you can. Siri seems to work with only the Apple ecosystem when it comes to what some might consider fundamental tasks. That is a bit of a let- down.

Amazon Echo Featuring in this smart speaker review:

Amazon Echo has become a household name for many and with good reason too. Its price makes it an excellent starting point for getting into the smart speaker game. What’s more is that its own voice assistant is more than capable of handling news, podcasts, music and other voice assistant stuff. 2019 new and improved Amazon Echo has taken audio to a whole new level too making it a serious consideration for those looking to enter into the smart speaker bandwagon. This one might be a tad expensive from earlier models but is still way below what you would have to pay to get an Apple HomePod. It softer look too makes it more at home than ever. The assistant too has undergone an upgrade too, with it having voice profile features. It also takes in different voice speeds too. It may not be able to replace your HiFi system just yet but still deserves some serious consideration.

Finally to Google Home:

Best Smart Speaker

Google Home is a great smart speaker but while in some areas it excels it also disappoints in other areas. When it comes to its voice assistant, it can be a little too rigid when it comes to comprehending a language. Plus many of Google's own features are sorely missed in its smart speakers. The list of these smart speakers keeps growing but with no much improvement or improvements that do not impress. For now, it still has a ways to go to compete with Amazon’s echo but if you’re only looking for a smart speaker that can have access to YouTube Music, built-in Google Cast and to turn on and off light switches then this is the speaker for you. Over the years Google Home has undergone some notable updates. It can now be used to call landlines in the UK and also the ability to handle multiple languages. The most recent update has seen Google Home being brought into the Nest Security Systems array. There are some smart speakers that are great only for their music while others can be used for both. The best of them being the Sonos smart speaker.

So you will have better performance for your device. This App has 4.2 ratings in the Google play store. Google Maps Go App only takes 208 kb, but you have to use Google Chrome on your device to make Google Maps Go work.

As these days, most of the phones come with a pre-installed Google Chrome app; you don't have to download it. If you are a person who loves to use a lightweight and speedy App? You should use Google Maps Go if you have already installed Google Chrome on your device. If you want to use a lightweight and speedy App, then you definitely have to use Google Maps Go because of its light in weight and faster in processing.

In case you want to use voice navigation, then you shouldn't need Google Maps Go because it will not offer some features which you get in Google Maps. Google Maps:

As we all know, Google Maps is a widely popular app that has all the best features. Google Maps is literally loaded with a comprehensive set of features to make everything easy for users. But, the only drawback of Google Maps is it will slow down your device.

Google Maps has 4.3 ratings in the Google Play Store with thousands of positive reviews. This App usually uses 128 MB on a fresh App install, and it will also eat up lots of space in the cache section as well. As it takes around 400MB along with caches and everything, it will definitely drain your battery because it's using the processor. Google Maps will eat 100 times more space then the Google Maps go generally consume. That's the reason so many switches to Google Maps go, but if you are striving to use full features, then you have to stick with Google Maps itself. To get a proper idea of Google Maps vs Google Maps Go lets have a look at its features.

  • These are some of the features of Google Maps. You can also find lots of features in Google Maps when you explore the App perfectly.

Let's have a look at the pros and cons to decide which is best for you.

Pros of Google Maps:

  • It's fully loaded with the power-packed feature set.
  • Voice navigation is the best feature users love to use.
  • You can get location-based recommendations.
  • Download Offline Maps and navigate easily without an active internet connection.

Cons of Google Maps:

  • Google Maps app will run slower on low-end devices.
  • It consumes lots of space in low-end devices.
  • There are lots of features that make the App more complex and harder to control.

Who can use Google Maps:

Google Maps is one of the best apps which you have to use when you are using a high-end mobile. But, if you are using a low-end device, then you have to switch to the Google Maps Go App. I'm saying it because Google Maps consume more space and use the processor effectively than Google Maps go App.

If you are having enough room on your phone and have enough power to run the Google Maps app, then you can use this App or else it better to switch to the Google Maps Go App for a smoother experience. In general, Google Maps is used by lots of people. Only if you are having any issues with Google Maps, you can switch to the Google Maps Go. Now, you might have a clear view on Google Maps vs Google Maps Go and which is best for you.

Can Your Data Warehousing Platform Keep Up With Your ERP Suite?

Modern enterprise resource planning suites are getting better and better at interoperability with your other logistics and planning platforms in individual departments, but it takes more than a great ERP package to make everything work together. When it comes to your total company-wide integration of resources and logistical planning, you need to be sure your data warehousing tools and techniques are prepared to both keep up with and serve information to your ERP. Without that, you wind up with a data lake but no practical way to make use of the information to get the tactical advantages you count on from advanced resource planning.

The Future Is Software Cooperation

If you haven't seen the term interoperability before, that's okay. It's not a new concept, but it is new to the mainstream discussions about management and financial planning. The term is quite common in training and development circles as well as the healthcare information field, but it means the same thing here: It means the piece of software in question works well with other applications, allowing them to share information. The result is an integrated oversight experience that serves the right data upward for the bigger-picture planners. While there are a lot of archival and data warehousing platforms out there, they traditionally have not had to work with the kind of analysis ERP platforms can make use of, so their data serving operations aren't optimized. By looking for a platform designed to integrate widely with industry-standard utilities and apps, you gain the advantage that comes from increased interoperability. This lets you do more with your information, exporting it to the right tool before serving it back into the decision-making tree for implementation.

Invest in a Platform With Staying Power

The days of rapid obsolescence are drawing to a close in the tech industry. Today, companies are looking to invest in evolving services that will continue to meet their needs over months and years. That's why software as a service is so popular, and it's not hard to see why it's attractive, given the cost of technological investments. It requires a different kind of planning from that used by many medium and large-sized companies over the last few decades, though.

If you're looking to make a move that will empower your ERP and that also sets you up to evolve into a future with higher and higher levels of technological integration, it's time to start looking at what you can do with your data warehousing, which analytics tools you pair with it, and how that information is served back into your workflow. The more interoperability you have between components, the easier upgrades get as your company evolves.

Google Pixelbook Go is Stylish and Sustainably Made

Google Pixelbook Go
As with all Google events, there were gadgets over new gadgets introduced. There were the likes of the Pixel 4, clearly, the spotlight was on this gadget, truly wireless Pixel buds, a nest mini speaker, nest Wi-Fi, and the Pixelbook Go. The Pixelbook Go isn’t something people were looking out for, but you know as they say you take what you get. But even so, the Pixelbook Go does not disappoint. It looks to be a pretty good machine with all the specs you would need for performing daily tasks and more. If you’re just looking at a Chromebook for small and menial tasks then this is your go-to Pixelbook Go.

But Where’sPixelbook 2?

Pixelbook was launched back in 2017 along when the Pixel 2 was launched. Let me tell you it was a damn good machine. It had an outstanding display, its two in one shift abilities to transform it into a tablet with all the associated Android apps at your disposal and it also came with a Pixelbook pen. Yeah, it was expensive but then again it was the best Chromebook to buy.

Come 2019, the Pixlelbook is looking old. What with its not – bezel-free display which is not up to 2019 standards and the lack of a finger print scanner and face ID all make it look older than its two years. Besides that, you have to shell out nearly $900 for a two-year-old Intel processor.

But Google stills wants both the older Pixelbook and the new Pixelbook Go to co-exist. Which makes no sense as the newer albeit cheaper model is the best buy for now.

But what’s Wrong with the Pixelbook Go? It takes a lot to make a good laptop and yes the Pixelbook go has all that it takes. But the point that I am trying to make is that when you already have a really good laptop- Pixelbook is the said laptop in question, why make an altogether new one.

You could just as easily turned up the bezel-free display and put in some of dem biometric authentication tech and updated some of the internals to get Pixlebook 2. Maybe it’s over-simplistic but it works.

Where did the Pixelbook Go come from? Maybe Google might say to cater to a growing mid-range population. That may be true too but when you have Microsoft releasing laptops such as the Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Pro 7 wait there’s one more Surface pro X too, then you’ve got to bring you’re ‘A’ game too.

If not 2019 then 2020 right?

As for the Pixelbook Go…

Google’s Pixel laptops tend to be outside most people’s budgets. But the Pixelbook Go costs just around $649. Yeah, it’s still more expensive than some of the completion but then again it’s not your ordinary laptop either.

What gets me with laptops is its hinge. You have to open a laptop with both hands, which is kinda irritating. But with this one, you can open it up with just your finger. The hinges on the Pixelbook Go are made so that you can do this. Plus it’s not too slack either that it just falls forwards when you open it. Call it a pet peeve or whatever but this part of it I really like.

Learn to Code with Grasshopper

Ever wanted to learn how to code but found it too difficult or maybe you didn’t know where to begin? Well now you can throw all those excuses away with Google’s new Grasshopper. With Grasshopper, Google allows novices to learn how to code. Recently Google even made Grasshopper available as a desktop app to better reach those novices who preferred a desktop to work on. Grasshopper was initially released back in 2018 as a mobile app. Since then millions have downloaded it on both compatible platforms of Android and iOS. With a larger screen space to work on, learning to code with grasshopper becomes easier and that’s what you can do now with grasshopper for desktop.

Googles whole Grasshopper initiative:

Grasshopper was created by Google back in 2018 to allow people access to coding education and also to give people a head start in career opportunities dealing with coding. Initially Grasshopper was started on mobile phones and millions have accessed it through that. But to reach a more wider audience, aka those who prefer larger screens, Google decided to bring Grasshopper to the desktop as well.

Since its initial release, more than 2 million people have installed grasshopper. These include but are not limited to those who have no coding experience at all. Grasshopper is aimed at those who need to know what the nut and bolts of coding are before they go on to more ambitious projects.

Google already provides a number of tech education tools and grasshopper is the latest to join this group. Besides grasshopper, there are also other tools to help you learn coding, not all by Google of course.

Learn to code with Grasshopper on a desktop PC:

Having a larger screen and a keyboard at your disposal makes learning to code much easier. Google capitalized on that fact and started Grasshopper for desktops now too. Now with the desktop app available Google is able to fit in columns for instructions, results, code- editors all side by side.

Google has also added more classes to its Grasshopper school- in addition to learning the basics you will also be able to learn how to use a code editor and a more advanced- how to make your own webpages. These classes will teach you more about CSS, HTML and Java Script.

Why is using a Code Editor a Separate Class?

In the first few classes which are more about the basics, you just learn how to create a few snippets of code and how to put them in the right order. But to learn how to create something from scratch you now have a new class- using a code editor.

What do you get after you learn to code with Grasshopper?

At the end of your course with Grasshopper you’ll be able to build a simple webpage. Besides that you will have your fundamentals down to learn the more advanced stuff. Once you have the background down you can then take on further courses on other platforms such as codecademy.

Best Live TV streaming Services

Best Live TV streaming Services
This is now the age of Best Live TV streaming Services, the most famous of them being; you guessed it- Netflix. But besides Netflix, there are still a lot of options out there that give you great content. When most of us these days cut the cord or wire, as you please, we’re doing so to get better content at more affordable prices. But the best part is none of these things. With wireless streaming, you can watch what you want when you want, that is the beauty of streaming. Many companies are too now seeing big bucks in streaming and want to get on the streaming bandwagon too. The most notable of the lot is Apple and Disney.

The only downside to cutting the cord is that you don’t have the flexibility of surfing channels anymore. There are, however, apps that let you surf through them to get to what you most want to watch, but yeah! They’re more expensive than Netflix. But they are still cheaper than cable TV. In this article, we’ll be looking at some of the best live TV streaming services you could use as an option to actual cable TV. So without further ado, let’s get started….

Go Live with Hulu + Live TV as one of the best Live TV Streaming Services:

Hulu is one of the best live streaming services to date. It has a leg up over its competition when it comes to this stuff as well as watching shows on demand. This has been something many live streamers don’t offer. Hulu also has one of the best libraries of channels in town. Although, there are other live streamers such as YouTube with its premium offering. It still does not have what is necessary to overthrow Hulu when it comes to the entertainment department. Hulu + Live TV is also one of the cheapest options out there coming in at $45 a month.

If you prefer to go ad-free when it comes to on-demand shows, then you can get those ads removed, all for a fee, of course. If you’re a sports fan, however, you may want to give Hulu a skip as it does not come with NFL Network, NBA TV, or MLB. Hulu is compatible with most OS devices, that is including iOS, Android, Windows, Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.

The Next Best Live TV Streaming Service- YouTube:

YouTube is the next best on our list as it is easy to use and has three simultaneous streams that you could use without spending a lot. What’s more, is that up to 6 people can have sub-accounts too, it’s a family plan kinda a thing. Yeah, there maybe one or two channels not present on YouTube, but which live streaming TV service has all the channels in the first place, right?

YouTube as a Live streaming service is compatible with most platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows, Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, macOS, PS3, and Vizio Smart TVs. Some of the notable absent channels are- A&E, History, Comedy Central, Lifetime, NFL Networks and Nickelodeon. This live TV streaming service is slightly more than Hulu and will cost you around $50 a month.

Sony PS Vue is another good bet when it comes to Live TV Streaming Services:

PS Vue or PlayStation Vue is a great live TV streaming service for those having one of those gaming consoles lying around. PS Vue is designed to work with only a limited audience- that is to PS3 and PS4 owners. Even so, it still is one of the best live TV streaming services to own. It has some of the best channels available. Plus, if you’re a PS3 or PS4 owner, you can get it easy enough- by simply downloading the App from your PS whatever.

But PS Vue is not limited to only PS3 or 4 but you can also get it on other devices as well. PS Vue also comes with a good collection of sports channels that other streaming services are sorely missing out on. You can also get up to 5 simultaneous streams with PS Vue, which means that up to 5 people can use it on one account, The Family Plan, again.

It is compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, Chromecast, Apple TV, PS4, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and macOS. A&E, History, Comedy Central, Lifetime, Nickelodeon, and MTV are some of the more notable absents from the list. To get PS Vue, it will cost you around $50 a month.

No Family plan with this one- Sling TV:

One of the longest-running live streaming services out there today and one of the most versatile ones too is Sling TV. Plus, it’s cheap, coming in at $25 a month. The downside, however, is that there is no family account or simultaneous streaming.

Also, its list of channels is a tad confusing. It is compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox One, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and macOS. Some of the absents are- ABC, CBS, Fox News, Animal Planet, MLB Network, and Nickelodeon. You already know what it costs.

Some other Options For Your Perusal:

Philio TV- This is the cheapest of all our live TV streaming options. It has 58 channels and is available across most platforms. The negative is that its user interface isn’t as easy to use as YouTube and Hulu Live TV. If Not Streaming, then the alternative- Digital Antenna- If not for streaming, you can also check out the digital antenna idea.

You can get most major networks on air for free, too, like ABC Fox, CBS, and NBC. To give you some options in this arena, there is WinegardFL5500A. This digital antenna has a 50-mile range and is the best quality antenna out there. You can place it at a window, too; there is no need for a rooftop install.

Surface Duo: Not another Microsoft Phone

Microsoft is all set to give it another go in the phone arena. This time, not with its own OS. At the recent launch of the Surface Duo, Microsoft surprised everyone, not with it coming after two years back into the phone game, but with android being the OS in its new phone. The new Surface Duo will apparently have two screens, featuring Android on both of them, that folds together with the help of hinges.

Surface Duo: Not another Microsoft Phone

When can you get your Hands on the New Surface Duo?

The new Phone will be available in a whole year from now, on the holidays of 2020. With Microsoft’s foldable phone, it’s renewing its relationship with phones in a genre that is sure to grab people’s attention- the foldable phone market.

You may be forgiven to think that the new Surface Duo would run on the same OS as the dual-screen Surface Neo, launched at the same time. The Surface Neo would run on Windows 10X OS. However, it will not be able to make calls. So it basically makes sense for it not to come with the typical Android OS.

Another thing different with both phones is that the Surface Neo is much bigger than the Surface Duo and comes with a different processor than the Surface Duo. Plus, it also works with a magnetic keyboard, which again is something that the Surface Duo does not have.

Why Android?

After the first Windows phone, Microsoft learned the hard way that people prefer Android phones. Besides that, in a practical sense, it’s also a safer bet as Google knows what’s it’s doing with the OS and in supporting apps on a platform. This is something that Windows knows to do only when it comes to computers and not phones.

Surface Duo Microsoft’s last Stint with phones:

The last Microsoft phone was poised to be one of the top mobiles in the 2000s, but then came along Apple and its more intuitive iOS. That began Microsoft’s steady decline into oblivion. After that, it was one Microsoft phone after the other with none of them doing well, what with Apple’s iPhones and Google’s rapidly gaining Android ground.

Microsoft even took over Nokia’s phone business but couldn’t really stay in the game with Android and iOS. At this Point, Microsoft’s phone’s ambition was all but dead. That is until now.

Although a Windows phone with a Microsoft OS is still a way off, for now, a Windows Phone with Android will do, and who knows this just might be a game-changer.

The Dual screen fad:

At a time when workloads, Netflix binge-watching, or general video watching has increased, the demand for larger screens sizes has increased too. But on the other side of the coin, we all want a phone that we can fit into our purses or pockets. The solution- a foldable screen. With these types of phones, you get the benefit of a larger screen with the ability to carry them around in your pocket.

How to use Google 2 Factor Authentication without Phone

How to use Google 2 Factor Authentication without Phone
In this modern world, people have to be more careful in securing their account. If not their account will be hacked, and hackers might steal all the sensitive data from them. The Google 2 factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. Over the past few years, the profile high jacking cases and cybersecurity cases have increased a lot. Now, the old way of locking down Google is no longer the safest way. If you want to lock down your account, you have to use "Google 2 Factor Authentication" method. This is the special way where you can safeguard your account. Google 2 Factor authentication makes your online accounts and online presence more secure. If you use the old way, then you might get into trouble as hackers are managing to steal traditional passwords with ease. That's the reason why these days, most of the people are moving towards the two-factor authentication method for Google accounts.

Don't know what's Google Two Factor Authentication?

Google 2 Factor Authentication is a simple step which helps you secure your account. Here all you need to do is enter your traditional password and a one-time password which is generated on your phone, tablet to log into your online account. This process can be done either by the form of SMS or Call verification. As you are directly getting the SMS or call to your device, you can stay secure. If anyone tries to access your account, they might not be able to access that because the final password will be in your hands.

Google Authenticator Process:

Usually, Google offers two default ways. The first way is to prompt on your secondary device. The second way is via SMS or call. Although this case is secure, it has a slight defect if you have no access to the SMS or calls then you will not be able to login to your account. In some cases, if your phone is lost means, you cannot log in to your account. If you are worried about those situations means don't worry, in that type of situations, Google's Backup codes can help you out and be the saver of the day.

What is Google Two Factor Authentication Backup Codes:

Google 2 Factor Authentication backup codes are just a string of numbers which are used to authenticate your account whenever you don't have access to your verification codes. Usually, Google generates a total of 10 codes at a time. All you have to do is store those ten authentication codes at a secure location where you can visit. This place depends on your wish and convenience. In case, if you want to have a fresh set of batch numbers, then you can generate the second batch of numbers as well. Now, as you are striving to be protected with Google 2 Factor Authentication without the phone, you can follow the below steps and get your work done.

How to Set Up Google 2 Factor Authentication Backup Codes:

In this post, I'll let you know about how to set up Google 2 Factor Authentication backup codes with ease. Step 1: Quickly Sign into your main Google account and go to the Google 2 Step verification option. Step 2: Once you go to the landing page. Click on the Get Started button which is right at the top of the page. In case, if you have already worked with 2 Factor Authentication, then you'll see the data at the top. Along with these, it will also show you the other Google 2 Factor Authentication ways that already exists in your Google Account. Most of the cases, people will enable Google Prompt and SMS verification rather than backup codes. Step 3: Now, Scroll down to the bottom until you see the option for your Backup codes. When you see that, click on set up and then you will be welcomed with random digits. TikTok Users Now Need to Be Wary of scammers

TikTok

TikTok has seen a great rise in popularity. Last year alone, TikTok has seen a meteoric rise. It is one of the most downloaded apps on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

What is TikTok?

TikTok is video sharing app developed by a Chinese Internet technology company called ByteDance. It is a 15 second video making app and one of the most popular video sharing apps. Initially it was launched in China as Douyin in September 2016. A year later, it was open to the international market under the name of TikTok.

According to a CNN Business report dated June 2019, TikTok has more than one billion monthly active users. With TikTok, users can create and share short videos with special effects.

TikTok has seen a meteoric rise in the Indian market. According to the app analytics firm, Sensor Tower, the app was downloaded more than 240 million times in February alone.

The app is very popular, but many say that the content is inappropriate.

Due to its increasing popularity among the masses, the scammers too are not to be left far behind. They are looking for ways to commit fraudulent transactions. There was a report that was published by a cyber security company called Tenable stating that TikTok is becoming a platform for adult dating scams. The report claims that the scam makes users sign up for an adult dating website.

TikTok as a platform for adult dating websites

The unsuspecting users sign up on the adult dating websites.

The TikTok profiles that are shown in the accounts contain nude pictures and are stolen from other websites. The idea behind this is to increase the likes of the account and increase the popularity of the given profile.

According to Tenable, the fake profiles show up in the ‘For You’ section page. This has been placed there by TikTok, though it is not known how this happens. The scammers force the users to go to Snapchat accounts where there are videos on nudity. Once the users go to Snapchat where they add adult based accounts, they will encounter a Snapchat story. This will show videos of an unknown person either being sexually suggestive or showing nudity. There will be an emoji or a sticker that will cover the explicit portion of the video.

From the Snapchat account, the unsuspecting user will be directed to adult dating websites. The user will be asked their age and then be directed to a sign in page. After filling in their information, the user will be directed to the actual adult dating website. Here again, they will need to fill the sign up page.

The scammers benefit by generating revenue. They maximize their cost per action to generate revenue. Every time a user signs up, the scammers get paid. A scammer gets paid between $1 and $3 for a qualified lead based on the geographical region, age category or a new user account.

Another way of scamming users is asking them to subscribe to a ‘premium’ Snapchat account. Here the scammers earn revenue when they post not-safe-for-work (NSFW) Snaps from a more private account.

How is TikTok protecting its users?

They say there are strict policies in place. They flag and remove the spam accounts before they reach the users account.
The number of scammers are increasing and TikTok needs to take stringent steps to wipe out these fraudulent activities.

Turn Old Electronics Into Fast Cash

If you have old, electronic devices collecting dust it your drawers or cabinets, now is the time to trade them in for some quick cash. As one of the hottest startups to launch in San Diego, the tech company ecoATM offers a new and intriguing way to recycle, declutter your home and pad your bank account at the same time.

How Does It Work?

Like any good tech startup, ecoATM began as a way to meet a need. Thousands of Americans have old, used technology laying around that they never even touch anymore, so why not turn that unnecessary clutter into quick, easy money? The process is simple. Just visit one of the 2700 machines scattered across the country and insert your fully-charged device. State-of-the-art technology then analyzes the device to determine a fair price. If the amount of money you are offered is agreeable, all you have to do is accept it and then our kiosk rewards you in the form of gift cards or cash, depending upon your preferences.

What Devices Does the Company Accept?

The ecoATM company accepts many different types of small, portable electronic devices that would otherwise take up space in our home. The amount of money you receive varies depending upon several factors. The quality, age and type of device you have to offer all have an impact on how much money you can earn for trading it in. EcoATM accepts nearly any model from the following categories.
  • iPhones
  • MP3 players
  • Android phones
  • Mobile phones
  • Tablets
Before trading in your device, make sure you have wiped its memory so there is no chance you could have personal information stolen. The best way to do this is to restore your device to its factory settings. Not only does this erase your information, but it prepares the device to be restored and go to a new owner with minimal hassle on your end.

What Are the Benefits?

Trading in old devices has many benefits. You have no use for them anymore, so they simply take up space and collect dust the longer you keep them. You can choose to trade certain devices in to your cell phone provider for credit toward a new device, you can sell it to someone else, or you can trade it in with ecoATM and save yourself both time and hassle.

Most cell phone providers only accept mobile phones for trades. Instead of receiving cash, you can earn credit to a new phone. Older phones and those in less than perfect condition may not be accepted, which still leaves you with the old device that takes up space.

If you choose to sell your devices, you may not get nearly what they are worth. You also have to deal with the hassle of presenting the phone to the buyer, whether in person or via a mail carrier, and collecting the amount of money you agreed upon.

When you choose to trade your device in with ecoATM, not only do you receive fair market value depending upon condition and age, but you also have minimal hassle. You don’t have to communicate with buyers or haggle over a price, and you don’t have to worry about shipping your device. You simply drop your device off at one of our kiosks, receive a price, and either accept or decline the offer.

EcoATM has revolutionized the process of trading in unused electronic devices. Get quick cash by decluttering your home with items you have no use for, and do it in an environmentally-friendly way. Visit one of our kiosks today or check out our website to get an estimate on how much money you stand to receive for your device.

Google Bug Bounty to provide security for Android Apps

Google Bug Bounty
Many apps on Google Play Store have malware which have been discovered recently. In order to increase security of the apps, Google is seeking help from the public too. Google is regularly improving their security and privacy of their products. The Google Bug Bounty provides security for Android apps.

What is Google Bug Bounty?

Google is offering a wide range of vulnerability reward programs to encourage the people and developers to improve security for everyone. As part of the Google Bug Bounty program there are changes to the Google Play Security Reward Program (GPSRP). In addition to the Google Bug Bounty program, they are also launching the new Developer Data Protection Reward Program (DDPRP).

How does Bug Bounty offer changes to the (GPSRP)

Google Play Security Reward Program offers rewards to the developers who find any security breach on the apps. Earlier, there were only eight top apps which were included in the program. Now, any app from Play Store that has more than 100 million installs come under this program. In case a developer comes across any security breach in an app, they need to report it to Google. They can then claim a bounty of up to $20,000.

As part of Google Bug Bounty program under the GPSRP, all these apps are eligible for rewards. This is even in the eventuality of the app developer not having their own vulnerability disclosure or bug bounty program. Google will disclose the vulnerabilities to the concerned app developer. In this way the security researchers help the app developers to identify and fix the malware in their apps.

In case the developers have their bounty programs, the researchers can collect their rewards from the developer and from Google. From GPSRP, which is a part of the Google Bug Bounty Program, vulnerable data can be identified. With this Google can create automated checks to scan all the apps in Google Play for any malware.

The app developers who are affected will then be notified through Play Console. Play Console is part of the App Security Improvement (ASI) program. This program gives information on the malware and how they should fix the problem. Till date, ASI has helped over 30,000 developers fix more than 1,000,000 apps on Google Play. According to the Bug Bounty program, GPSRP has paid over $265,000 in bounties.

Launching of Developer Data Protection Reward Program as part of Google Bug Bounty

DDPRP is a Bug Bounty program which is in collaboration with HackerOne. It will help to identify and fix malware in Android apps, OAuth projects and Chrome extensions. Here, rewards will be given to those who can give complete evidence of data abuse in a similar model as Google’s other vulnerability reward programs.

In this Bug Bounty program, it aims to find out situations where the user data is being used illegitimately, without the consent of the user. There could be a breach related to an app or Chrome extension. That app or extension will be removed from Google Play or Google Chrome Web Store. In case an app developer is involved in data abuse, their API access will be removed. As per the Google Bug Bounty in the DDPRP, a single report could net $50,000 reward.

FIDO2 Enabled Log In: Google Services using Your Fingerprint?

FIDO2 Enabled
Apparently to sign in to Google Services all it takes will be your fingerprint. Google plans on allowing users to sign in to their Google accounts using their fingerprint or the screen lock on their phones. Of course, this will be available to Android devices only that are maybe initially. Normally when trying to log into one’s account you need your user ID and password. But now all that is going to be done away with. Google has rolled out this new feature with its Pixel range of phones at present. Other Android enabled devices are not too far behind either. Google plans on rolling out this new feature on Android 7 devices and above shortly or in the next few days.

More Security with FIDO2 Enabled Log In:

Google’s new feature has been years in coming with the tech giant collaborating with the FIDO Alliance and the W3C to get things on the road. And things are now finally on the road with this new feature coming to Pixel smartphones.

This new method of logging into your Google accounts is supposed to be more secure and of course simpler to use.

In Google’s blog they mention newer methods of technology surpassing the need of the traditional logging in using your password kinda thing. With this new method of logging in coupled with the tech giants already present automated protections; this method is pegged to be more secure and easy to use.

The Point in Using FIDO2 instead of Normal Android APIs:

According to Google’s blog the whole idea in using FIDO2 standards as opposed to your average APIs on Android is that the biometric system made with FIDO2 standards are now used on the web too. This means that various other accounts can be synced using the same biometric on different platforms as opposed to making a separate one for different log ins.

Note to Users:

While you fingerprint maybe used across all platforms, your fingerprint will never be sent to a Google server. It will remain on the device itself, this is according to a blog posted by Google. The only thing that will be sent to Google’s Server is cryptographic proof that the user has correctly scanned their fingerprint using biometrics.

This remains an essential part of the new feature built on FIDO2 standards.

For Further Security:

If that’s not enough there’s always Titan Security Keys as well as Android phone’s own built in security key for added protection.

These security keys as well as the new method of logging in, using biometrics, are all based on FIDO2 standards. However, the two methods are meant for different things, while one is used for bootstrapping a new device to make sure it’s the same owner logging into their account but from a new phone, the other that is verification based on biometrics, is done after bootstrapping a device and is all used for verifying the identity of the already signed in user during step- up flows.

Gallery Go: Latest App to Join the Go Series!

Gallery Go
The whole idea behind Google’s Go option is to be able to use apps with low data packs. As a new addition to the pack, Google has recently launched Gallery Go. Again, this app just like its siblings does not require much data or storage to work. The Go app, launched at Google’s third Google for Nigeria event, is available on devices running Android 8.1 and later. Another sore point is that management of photos will be available to users only in certain markets and not everywhere. As a side note Google is also planning to bring Bolo, a reading tutor app, to Ghana and Nigeria.

More about Google Gallery Go-

Gallery Go as revealed by Google in a blog post will use machine learning to organize your photos and will also work offline too. This makes it an excellent substitute for the normal Google photos app, especially on low powered devices.

The app may also appear as a pre- installed app on Google Go edition phones, even if there are only two of them at present- Itel S15 AndItel A55.

Gallery Go is meant to do all that the normal Google Photos app can do such as help you easily locate photos, edit them and manage them, all with the added bonus of using less data or cloud backup.

For first time users, the great thing about Google Gallery Go is that it plays well with SD cards making it easy to transfer photos between phones to memory cards.

As for the editing options- all the basic ones such as crop and rotate are present with some auto enhanced features as well. For low powered phones the icing on the cake is that the app is only 10 MB in size, leaving plenty of room for other things. Other things such as more room for your own photos.

A thing with low powered phones is just that – they’re low powered, any apps will slow down the phone as they take up a lot of space. But an exception is the Google Gallery Go app weighing in at only 10 MB.

Availability of Google Gallery Go:

Google Gallery Go is only available on Android devices running on 8.1 OS and later. You can get your hands on the app or install it from the Google Play Store.

Apparently users aren’t happy with the 8.1 OS compatibility thing. Many whose phones run on earlier versions don’t have the space to install Google’s photos app and the new Google Gallery Go app is not backward compatible as well.

Even though Google seems to be targeting Go apps for their Go phones, they seem to have forgotten about smartphones running on version older to 8.1 or other low powered Android devices.

To put everything in numbers, as per Google’s very own dashboard (last updated 7th May) only 25.8% of Android devices run on 8.1 OS or later. What about the rest 74.2%?

Turbo Creo SL- Light Weight Electric Bicycle

Turbo Creo SL- Light Weight Electric Bicycle
Specialized just announced its new special electric bike. Its lightweight body and impressive engineering will definitely leave an impression. But what’s sure to grab your attention is its price, which is less than impressive, if you catch my drift. The company that specializes in high tech bikes, was apparently working on a new model that they said would “be able to flatten roads”. That’s all we knew about the bike. But now the wait is finally over as the company releases its Turbo Creo SL.

New Unchartered Territory with the Turbo Creo SL:

Specialized has now entered new waters by making its lightest e-bike yet. Supposedly with this bike you’ll be able to go as fast as a Tour de France cyclist. The cycle is meant to be powerful and to provide a smooth ride. So apparently if you’re going on a mountain it should feel as easy as riding on a flat surface.

The Turbo Creo SL may be a first in a line up of light weight bikes to be churned out of Specialized.

More on The Lightweight E-Bike:

Turbo Creo SL clocks in at just 12.2 kgs and comes with Specialized’s own custom designed motor. Previously the company used a Brose motor but since then, for its special new bike a special new motor.

What I mean by special is that, according to the company there was no lightweight motor out there, so they had to invest in their own R&D to get the job done. Which they did.

The result is a noteworthy silent mid drive 240W motor that is capable of powerful as well as silent ridding.

The cycle has a range of 121 miles which is a bit unrealistic but according to the company this is the real- world range.

But before you go ahead and make a purchase, there are two versions with this bike- a base model that has got an 80 mi range with a 320Wh battery and a 121 mi range with a 160Wh battery. To get an auxiliary battery again you’re going to have to shell out some dough. $399 to be exact.

To state the basics, at such high ranges a decent amount of pedal effort is required by the rider. The motor on its own gives about 200% boost at its highest power setting but relies less on motor effort.

Customize Your Turbo Creo SL Ride:

The turbo Creo SL comes with custom ride options. You can either go Eco, Sport or for what the bike is named for Turbo. These options are available via an app, curtesy of Specialized. The app also keeps tabs on the battery to tell the rider how much juice is left and whether it will last the entire journey. Besides that, the motor comes with integrated ANT+, which is a multicast wireless sensor network tech that tracks rider power.

Here’s the Shocker:

Let’s get to it then- The Price. The Turbo Creo SL cost a whopping $17,000 for the founder’s edition of which only 250 bikes will be made.

It is an exciting game series that showcase brutality and damages more than ever. Besides, another new feature is block mechanic that allows, after blocking attack, a comeback window. Returning of Mercy, as seen in Mortal Kombat 3, will allow the winning player to revive their opponents. It can help to give them a small quantity of life.

Mortal Kombat 11 also provides the player with the customization feature similar to that of DC comic, and Injustice 2. In this feature, along with the initial outfits, moves and weapons, the players can customize each character according to their preferences. In this series, the appearances of the characters do not determine their skills and abilities. However, it allows the players to have their custom-made moves lists for the characters. This customization feature will give the player a more personalized experience.

Critics praised the gameplay, story and net code a lot, and the Mortal Kombat 11game got the favourable reviews too. However, the story got some criticism for the presence of microtransactions and excess dependence on grinding.

OLED vs. QLED TV: Which is Right for you, and why does it Matter?

OLED vs. QLED TV: Which is Right for you, and why does it Matter?
These are golden days for TV technology. As the technology is advancing every day, the demand is also increasing. So, OLED vs. QLED TV, which one is right for you? Let’s find out.

If you have casually looked for a TV, you have likely been overwhelmed with some acronyms like, 4K, HD, UHD, HDR, and so on. All the major TV brands like Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic and other use them.

Two most prevalent terms you will encounter everywhere in today’s world of high-end TVs are OLED and QLED. Because of the indistinguishable term, many people get confused between two technologies. They are actually extensively diverse from each other.

OLED vs. QLED TV: Let’s talk in detail!

What is OLED?

Let’s start with the basic: OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. OLED TVs are a structurally different technology than that of a normal LED-LCD TVs. The OLEDs take form of individual pixels emitting their own light when fed electricity. There’s no need for the LCD screen to display image - hence the term emissive display. There are three micro pixels in each OLED pixel.

What is QLED?

QLED (Quantum dot Light Emitting Diode) is the most advanced version of conventional LED-LCD technology. The problem with LED-LCD is backlight color, which vary widely from set to set.QLED solve that by using the quantum dots which acts like a filter when put in between the LED backlight and the LCD screen to enhance performance. These quantum dots are the reason for getting a better, more vivid and more saturated color.

More on OLED vs. QLED TV

OLED:Pros

  • OLED is a technology which involves a carbon film is placed between two conductors that pass a current through to emanate a light.
  • It is divergent to a traditional LCD TV, which depends on a separate backlight to generate light.
  • There are lots of attempts made to eradicate the issue of light bleeding from bright pixel to those around it, but no TV with a backlight has managed to do it.
  • OLED panels are lighter and thinner than a typical LCD-LED structure.
  • OLED TV viewing angles are much wider and have quick response time.
The prime disadvantage of an OLED TV is that the manufacturing cost is significantly more expensive than the alternatives. LG, the only producer of OLED panels, are selling their parts to other companies to reduce the cost.

QLED: Pros

  • Every pixel of QLED emits its own light, thanks to quantum dots.
  • These quantum dots have the potential of giving off bright and vibrant colors.
  • The current QLED TV does not release its own light; a backlight is passed through them.
Samsung is the only manufacturer that produces QLED technology. As Samsung stated, the next-gen quantum dots will have the ability of emitting their own light. It will give the TV the ability to light up and turn off each pixels just like OLED.

OLED vs. QLED TV: Which is better for you?

As we are not aware how much time it will take for the next-gen QLED, as of now OLED has better image quality. In a standard LED TV sets, the LEDs never turns off totally, so they use dark grays to replicate black. OLED pixels are fast and precise in changing color that makes gaming, watching sports or action movies more realistic and factual. The viewing angles are wider in an OLED TV, but if you have rooms with adequate ambient light, then QLED TVs will not be an inferior choice. And most importantly, it is less expensive.

Artificial Intelligence: See What you Touch and Touch What you See

Artificial Intelligence: See What you Touch and Touch What you See
Since we were small till now and till the end, feeling is and will always be a sort of language to us. The ability to touch and understand what we’re touching is something that we’ve taken for granted since we were born. While this is something we don’t really think about, a robot that has been programmed to touch or see can do one of them but not both together. So, to bridge that gap researchers at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory or CSAIL for short have come up with an AI tech that can learn to see by touching and vice versa.

GelSight to Help with seeing by Touching and Touching by Seeing:

The system up at CSAIL works by creating tactile signals from visual inputs and helps in predicting which object and what part of such an object is being touched. This they did by using a tactile sensor called GelSight, curtesy of another group at MIT.

How GelSight Works:

The team at MIT used a web camera to record nearly 200 objects being touched. This was done not once or twice but nearly 12000 times. Once that was done, the 12000 videos were broken down into static frames. These frames became a part of a dataset known as “VisGel”. VisGel includes more than 3 million visual/tactile images.

By Using AI, the robot or GelSight learns what it means to touch various objects as well as different parts of those objects. Allowing the robot to blindly touch things, they use the dataset they’ve been given to understand what they’re touching and identify the object. This according to researchers will greatly reduce the data that is needed for manipulating and grasping objects.

The Work to Equip Robots with More Human Like Attributes:

MIT’s 2016 project uses deep learning to visually indicate a sound or sounds and to also enable a robot to predict responses to physical forces. Both these projects are based of of datasets that don’t help in guiding seeing by touching and vice versa.

So as mentioned earlier, the team had come up with VisGeldataset and one more other thing. This other thing is Generative Adversarial Networks or GANs for short.

GANs use the visual or tactile images to generate other possible images of the thing. It basically uses two things known as “Generator” and “Discriminator”. These two compete with each other in that while one comes up with images of real- life objects to fool the discriminator, the other has to call the bluff. Once and if the discriminator calls it, the generator learns from it and tries to up the game.

Learning to See by Touching:

As humans we can see things and know exactly how they would feel had we touched it. To get machines to do the same thing, they first had to locate the position of the likely touch and then understand how that exact location would feel had they touched it.

To do this the reference images were used. This allowed the system to see objects and their surroundings. After that the robot arm or GelSight came into use. While the GelSight was being used, it took how various areas felt when touched into its database. While touching things and because of VisGel, the robot knew exactly what it was touching and where.
