Graduation is a sad time, signifying that you are parting ways with all of your friends and starting a new life. With today's technology, however, you don't have to say goodbye to your college friends forever. Check out these apps that can help you stay connected after college.

SnapChat

SnapChat is a simple messaging app that allows you to send photos quickly, with the option to add text or draw on the photo for a personal touch. These photos are private and only last up to 10 seconds depending on how long you set the message to last. Even though the app deletes these messages quickly, people still send over 50 million snaps per day according to Snapchat. This popular app delivers an easy way to share quick updates and silly photos without wasting time on phone calls.

Vine

Share the same type of silliness and life updates with your friends on Vine, but give them something to hold onto. With Vine, you can create 15 second videos and send them to your friends. Make your college classmates laugh by acting out an inside joke, or send a recording of important life updates, such as stepping into your first home or holding your first child.

GroupMe

Stay connected with all your college friends at once on your smartphone with the GroupMe app. This app allows you to enter into a group texting session so that everyone becomes involved in the conversation while on-the-go. Send photos, share your location, like messages and even send group texts to people who don't have the app so that they're never left out. Keep the whole group together and updated with this simple app, available on all devices.

LiveProfile

Messaging your friends just became a lot easier. With LiveProfile, friends can chat, share both photos and videos, and send emoticons instantly. Not only does it give users an alternative to texting, but users can also set up their own profiles, making it simple to share updates and stay connected. Encourage your friends to download the app so that you can connect with their profiles.

BlackBerry Messenger for Android

BlackBerry has branched out to the Android platform! Just like on the BlackBerryQ10, users can now stay connected with their friends with BBM for Android. You can choose an animated avatar, customize chat bubble colors, and more. You can share photos, videos, and all of your documents up to 6MB, which should be the perfect limit for sending work related items.

HootSuite

When we talk about keeping up with old friends, we can't leave the popular social networking sites, but keeping up with all your friends and all your social profiles can become tough. HootSuite offers a solution to that. With HootSuite, you can manage all your social media accounts from one location to stay connected with all your friends easier. The app supports Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn and several other popular sites.

Skype

Instead of connecting through phone calls, keep your meetings with your friends interesting by communicating over video chats with your smartphone. Skype offers a range of features on their most basic version, including the following services:
  • Skype to Skype calls
  • Video chats
  • Instant messaging
  • Photo, video and file sharing
  • Group calls
  • Video messaging
Whether you're out of college or still have a few years left, these apps should help you stay connected with your college buddies.

Minimizing the risk of shadow IT

The proliferation of highly accessible technology and mobile devices has led to a generation of tech-savvy employees that know what software features they want and how they want them.
The proliferation of highly accessible technology and mobile devices has led to a generation of tech-savvy employees that know what software features they want and how they want them. Or, at least, it has led to a generation of employees that consider themselves tech-savvy enough to handle enterprise data without posing a risk to their organizations. As a recent CloudTech article suggested, however, employees are not always conscious of data security best practices.
The issue of shadow IT is often presented with employees utilizing public cloud storage services such as Dropbox, but it can apply to any service that business units leverage for work without IT's knowledge.
"Sales directors, for example, might spend part of their opex on cloud-based sales management systems," the article stated. "They know the tools their team needs to perform better, they have mapped out the spec with their colleagues for a particular cloud-hosted application and have taken recommendations from peers."
The problem is that business teams may not have the technical expertise to ensure that solutions are implemented appropriately. Additionally, the article warned that business teams may not be as well positioned to evaluate different providers and choose the cloud service that best fulfills their needs. This means that companies must bridge the gap between technical and non-IT employees to ensure cloud strategies are appropriately aligned.
While it can be helpful to assign someone the responsibility of managing all cloud initiatives, this is not always the most viable option. Furthermore, it may still leave sensitive digital assets outside of the IT department's control.
Addressing the shadow IT trend
Companies may be better served by addressing the shadow IT trend at the root cause. The fact that employees are provisioning their own IT resources indicates that current options are not fulfilling their needs. As a result, IT departments should evaluate their strategies and ensure that they are meeting the expectations of business units. Vawns Guest and Patrick Bolger, members of the Transition Management Special Interest Group, wrote a ComputerWeekly article in which several factors are outlined that technical teams should consider in refining their strategies, including:
  • Service performance
  • Service availability
  • Business challenges and requirements
  • Outstanding issues
"The information worker has never been under greater pressure to remain productive, both in the workplace and at home," the two wrote. "Imposing more restrictions and preventing access to tools on the corporate desktop is a pointless exercise, when everything the user needs is available on their personal mobile phone or tablet."
As a result of the new demands on business units, IT departments face greater pressure to meet higher expectations and to consider factors such as user experience more so than they have in years past.

The First Smartphone with Curved Screen Samsung Galaxy Round

With the Galaxy Round, Samsung launches as expected the first Smartphone with a curved display in the market. The horizontal curvature allows some new control options that the user tilts the phone lying to the side. Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Round and thus presents the first Smartphone with a curved display. The release was expected from South Korean industry circles in this week. Even the name was already named in advance.

In the new technological race screens of innovative Smartphones, Samsung has scored a point. It has officially introduced via the South Korean operator SK Telecom, the first Smartphone with a curved screen (not flexible) to the market. The giant grid and politeness LG announces a similar terminal in November. But its competitor promises a curved flexible screen AND more. The Galaxy Round thus marks a new stage in the history of Smartphones since introduced a new design out with the existing one. It remains to know the specific applications or functions that can exploit these new forms.

The salient feature of the Galaxy Round is the 5.7 -inch , horizontally curved Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. A number of degrees of curvature are not available. Since the entire Smartphone is curved, it is better in the hand than other Smartphones. The concavity of the Galaxy Round is also not like most other devices on a flat surface but can be tilted by the user to the left and right. Samsung uses this fact to extend the operating options of the Smartphone to the maximum ease.

The so-called rolling effect makes it possible to retrieve in standby mode by gently tilting the Smartphone information such as time, missed calls, and the battery status can be noted without having to wake up the device. Playing music from the user: the music can be changed by tapping side. You can navigate in this way through the gallery: by lateral tilting and the user will get access to the contents there in the gallery. In the video released by Samsung's official blog is to realize that it takes just a second to the time and other information appears on the display.

Round the Galaxy has not only taken over the screen size and resolution of the Galaxy Note 3, the two devices are similar also by design. Round The Galaxy also has a similar back that is stitched on the edge with a decorative seam. The Smartphone is 7.9mm thick and weighs 154 grams for further hardware, Samsung has not made any claims, it is possible that the Galaxy Round has similar specs as the Galaxy Note 3rd an input pin does not seem to have the Galaxy Round.

Need To Know Some Things About Personal Computers?

Backgrounds are huge expense. The unit can cost you lots but have several benefits. Should you purchase something that does not cover all of your needs, it may be challenging to have things done. Improve your buying experience as well as your final purchase using the tips below.

Think about the disc burning features of any desktop computers that you're taking a look at. Consider whether you intend to merely see media or maybe to create your own CDs and DVDs. If You're planning on doing the latter, make sure sure the pc that you simply need supports it. Not all backgrounds come with these capacities.

Assess the audio features of desktop computers which you need to purchase. This is particularly significant when you do jobs or work on computers that depends on audio. Most of the normal sounds cards work with most pc users. Having said that, in the event you do sound editing or mix, you might want something more strong.

If You're planning on storing lots of music or videos, ensure you obtain a hard drive that'll cover your requirements. Generally, the more hard-drive space you could get, the better-off you're. In other words, if you don't merely write e-mails and browse the internet in your desktop. You require the space particularly should you shoot video.

What are you using your computer for? It's vital to purchase a pc that suits your needs. If you'll use your personal computer to play games, everything you need from your personal computer will probably be different from everything you would need if you're thinking about utilizing the computer to write papers for college.

When you choose your pc, look closely at the forms of applications which are included, especially should you want a word processing program. You must be conscious of either or not you'll get a whole version of aforementioned applications, or in case you'll only obtain a trial version that'll require that you spend additional cash afterwards.

Backup your pc from now and then. Unfortunately, computers do crash and may choose all of the info in the hdd together. Many times that info is significant and it may be devastating to lose such things as graphics, papers, or anything which you keep on your pc.

If you'd like to run several applications simultaneously, you'll need at least 4GB of RAM. If you merely need to accomplish simple jobs, less than 4GB is going to be acceptable. Wish to play computer games? Search for 10GB and above to make sure your games are not lagged and challenging to play.

Should you actually need to save cash on a fresh computer, take a look at refurbished versions or open-box systems. These may commonly be had at deep discounts as well as fractions of the retail cost of a recent one. Do check-out what sort of guarantee and certification they include. Appealingly, you need a refurbished system that's been checked out twice.

After you have got an idea of the kind of desktop that'll do the job, buying becomes much easier. You must currently be prepared to create a wise choice about purchasing a pc. Use all of the assistance which you can to truly have a great shopping experience.

HTC to bring Smartphone with Dual Boot Android and Windows!

HTC is currently considering the development of a Smartphone with dual-boot option. Buyers are supposed to use it with either Google's Android or Microsoft's Windows Phone. HTC' is committed to ensuring that Smartphones either run with Windows Phone or Android. Maybe, HTC is bringing a Smartphone with a dual-boot option on the market soon. This would then allow the user to choose whether he runs the Smartphone with Android or Windows Phone.

Such plans have been tested internally at HTC, reports online sources. In particular, the development costs had been taken for a look. Still, there have been no such devices appeared. Windows Phone Smartphones do not want to bring to the market HTC. The mid- May 2013 was already known even before Microsoft announced the planned acquisition of Nokia's mobile phone division.

This intention Bloomberg was again confirmed, that HTC Smartphones are probably not to be expected only with Windows Phone. Microsoft has negotiated last month with HTC and wanted to make the manufacturer the use of Windows Phone tasty. Among other things, it was considered to offer Windows Phone as an option for HTC's Android Smartphones. In addition to a dual-boot option, the possibility arose as to the user to make the choice of which operating system they prefer. HTC would have had to pay no or lower license fees for Windows Phone. Nor has this been no final decision and it remains unclear whether Microsoft will follow HTC desire.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

The home screen of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is very tidy - which facilitates the operation and gives an elegant appearance. The Samsung Galaxy tab is available in three sizes with different three different technologies (2G, 3G etc). The most important innovation in the Galaxy Tab 3 is the Intel processor. Although the Atom Z2560 has only two cores, but the operating system offers the support of four cores - this hyper -threading technology has called the nuclear inherited from the great Intel processors.

But even in this form of the atom is really fast and even hangs the Tegra 3 processor with four cores from. The higher pace noticed can be when processing the larger size photos. Many current tablets come with very high resolution the Google Nexus 10 which is also built by Samsung even offer four but The Galaxy Tab 3 shows by "only” a megapixel (1280x800 pixels). When viewing videos or photos the viewer need not bother because the display offers a high-contrast image and vivid colors.

But small fonts are not quite as easy to recognize because of the lower resolution. The blue home screen of the Galaxy Tab is with a friendly design like many other Android tablets, however but it seems quite dark and dreary. The settings menu is also very clear, thanks to the design in black and white; the user comes along well and afloat to your destination. A wipe from above for calls is there on the touch screen as a short cut menu. With two taps can be there as the power-hungry GPS tracking off, turn on Bluetooth - for example to the tablet to connect to a headset - or put the device silently.

With the exception of the start screen user interface of the Galaxy is slightly less tidy than any other tabs. By the HSPA version of the Galaxy Tab 3 telephone calls over the mobile network are also possible. The user can also make video calls via the internet; it reaches with the best quality which offered by the front 1.3 megapixels, the eye on the back is of just three megapixels.

Take photo and video shooting with the Galaxy Tab 3 but only a little fun. After the initial setup, the Galaxy Tab offers listening quiet music. The up-regulation of the volume repeatedly acknowledged it with a warning - supposedly it was too loud. The Galaxy Tab 3 has a micro USB socket - which also have many smart phones. This is handy on holiday: There submit charger and a USB cable if you have multiple devices with this standard here. But to the TV set, the tablet does not come with USB.

Even with a special MHL adapter from USB to HDMI TV is also there. The new processor is noticeably faster. In addition, the Galaxy Tab 3 is slightly thinner than any other tabs and has slimmed down about 70 grams in weight. It is therefore just as thin as the iPad, and at least 100 grams lighter than it. The battery power supports for a longer time.

Advantages of Cloud Based Software for Businesses

Any business, no matter their size, can take advantage of using cloud-based technology to improve workflow management, systems and file access. The key to using cloud technology in the running of your core business is being aware of what your main business needs are, what kind of data you keep and track, and who manages that data. Then, look at how cloud technology might be able to streamline and safeguard that data.
But why the cloud? Does it really offer significant advantages to business, or is it all a lot of marketing hype? Unlike other technology fads, cloud is here to stay. Consider these advantages of using cloud-based software for improving how you run your business:
  • Access documents in the cloud instantly. Staff can login from any device and have instant access to all the files they need. Using online workflow management software, you can group files according to their jobs and keep everything neatly organised. More than likely, it will offer your staff greater flexibility with using and accessing information as well as saving time on administrative tasks.
  • Do away with staff location issues. If your business has multiple offices, or consultants who are always on the move, having your data stored remotely online will provide greater accessibility to the information you need. Do your staff regularly share information at meetings across your organisation? Cloud services can share files at meetings, in presentations without the need to bring USB’s. All your data is available online in one place and can be sent straight to your meeting and presentation.
  • Easier file sharing. Sending large files within the office is no longer a problem. No more waiting for huge emails to load! Just share a link to the document and your recipient can access it. With a cloud-based service, all files are universally available from any location across your network.
  • Take away the risk of data loss. Ask yourself, can I better manage my losses and secure my business by backing up my data? Could my business survive if our office was destroyed by a fire or flood? If the answer is no, then backing up your data by storing it online and using a cloud-based software could significantly improve your business - and your piece of mind.
  • Improved Workflow management. Workflow management software, such as WorkflowMax, will help your business to more effectively manage your projects, see your financials and and keep track of your data. Using cloud-based workflow management software will mean you can keep track of all your projects and information simultaneously.
  • Easy Access. Does everyone who needs the data have access to it? Do you have staff who need access to data but who don’t know where to find it? Search across your information stored remotely on a cloud service to find what you need. It is possible to set access for certain people to open certain documents, so all your most sensitive information stays safe.
You see, cloud technology has a lot to offer the business owner. Consider upgrading to a cloud-based service for your business today!
WorkflowMax offers workflow management software that will take the pain out of running your business. A total cloud solution covering all operations from prospecting to quoting, time sheeting to invoicing and everything in between, WorklowMax is ideal for creatives, agencies, consultants, professional services, IT, and trades - if your business is job focused then WorkflowMax is the tool you need.

Earplug MP3 Player with Teeth Controls

No tangling wires, but with a little space and with a limited control options offers the MP3 player Split. This is to be controlled in an interesting way; by the successive biting of your teeth. The headphones for mobile music player can be a nuisance such as; drawn from the bag, the user sees is often forced once to unravel the cord of your headphones before listening. But with the MP3 player split there will not be a problem since there is no cable attached.

The MP3 player is simply a pair of earplugs. Each has a small memory chip on which the music is stored. The plugs are inserted into the ear cavity and they play the stored music. The unusual operational concept makes the split one stands away from the crowd. The plugs have no volume control or any other controls. Even though they are separated they are magnetically connected and synchronize play of music. Thus, the songs will also be played strictly synchronous; a small chip with a clock is built into each set which is very accurate.

These begin to tick if the plugs are disconnected. The user can perform with your teeth. If you clack your teeth once each other is switched to the next piece. Biting twice make the volume changes automatically. There are only the settings low, medium and loud. Yes no more messy cables. Even the user need not open his mouth for it. To synchronize the playback of a command, a short radio pulse is emitted. The bite produces a slight vibration, which continues through the jawbone. An accelerometer collects the pulse and converts it to the corresponding command.

Thus, the chewing gum while listening to music does not have to be removed from the mouth; the mechanism can be deactivated by pressing the right plug. The player itself allows only a few settings. If the user wants to change volume or sound, he can do it on the computer before transferring the pieces to your MP3 player. There is a special cable with a magnetic port to which the two ear plugs are clicked.

At the other end of the cable has a USB plug to be connected to the computer. In this way, music can be transferred to the player, and the batteries are charged. The device is rather something for the short journey to work than for a long trip. It is internal memory is enough for about two dozen pieces of music the battery lasts four hours.

Among compatible with the Flutter technology that can supported on Mac and Windows applications, including Pandora account, Grooveshark, Netflix and YouTube and also in Google video platform. With this acquisition, Google could push the development of Flutter towards including Chrome and Android. Bose QuietComfort 20i Best Headphones Against Noise

Usually in-ear headphones; Models with noise-canceling system are very uncomfortable. But the Bose QuietComfort 20i refutes this prejudice and reduces the ambient noise. This indeed very great! With its unique silicone fitting pieces Bose QC20i sit very comfortably in the ear cups. But Bose requires 300 Euros for its QC20i. For this price tag, the American manufacturer also offers a lot. The comfort is excellent, for example, unlike conventional ear headphones, the Bose plugs are not pressed deep into the ear canals. Instead, they lie outside the ear, much like the classic iPod or iPhone headphones.

Thanks to special silicone mold they sit soft and precisely fit in the ears. A small nozzle directs the bass safely towards the ear canal, rather than to let slip away to the side, like in the old iPod earphones. Small silicone sheets keep the Bose headphones in the ears. In a hands-free microphone cable with answer key is included. Class: Bose offers two variants - the QC20 is suitable for smart phones with Android, BlackBerry and Windows operating system, QC20i specifically for the iPhone which has additional volume control buttons on the hands free microphone.

The electronics box behind controls the excellent noise reduction. Further down the cable, just before the connector, dangles a small flat electronic box about five millimeters thick. Two tiny microphones in each of the two earplugs register any sounds that do not belong to the current music. The electronics to calculate exactly opposite vibrations and passes them through the headphones again. Noise and counter- noise cancel each other out, the music remains. Or when the Smartphone pauses heavenly peace. The effect of noise reduction is amazing and almost ghostly.

Whether calls from sitting next heavy traffic noise or droning turbines: The Bose filters everything away. If that is too hard, switch to the “Attention" mode. Then the effect is similar to other noise-canceling models, leaving Language audible. So you do not miss announcements in the train station or airport. Firmly built into the box in the test battery lasted about 16 hours. The noise reduction was reflected by a slight noise floor. You hear it but only in a very quiet environment. Other side effects such as fluctuating volume were not audible.

The maximum volume is more than sufficient to standard Smartphones, distortions do not make their presence felt. The Bose works even the noise-canceling. The sound quality from the Bose convinced compared with Sony XBA -3 which reveals more detail in the music and hear sounds clearer, but will be without noise reduction. Here is as “real" in-ear model and uncomfortable in the long run not for everyone. The sound of the Bose contrast appears warmer and softer, but less detailed. The bass is full and clean at the listener, because booms that deafened nothing. Thus, the Bose is pleasant and unobtrusive even on long journeys. And very important: he voices are again pure and natural.
