Know Why Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S Appears a Threat to Apple's iPad

The war for supremacy rages on as always between the 2 modern day tech-giants: - Samsung & Apple. The latest tablet from the labs of Samsung- the all-new “Samsung Galaxy Tab S” is another attempt to get ahead of their tough rivals. Moreover, it does give Apple’s iPad Air a run for its money.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is available in two versions based on screen size: 8.4inch & 10.5inch. Its built is sleek & has a premium feel to it. Built characteristics of the S5 has been infused in the tablet including metal finishes & perforated plastic. The tablet is significantly lighter than the Apple’s latest iPad Air & appears thinner too, thus enhancing handling experience & portability.

Processor & Display: -

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S is powered by an Octa Core processor supported with 3GB RAM compared to the iPad Air’s dual core processor & 1 GB RAM. Screen resolution is also higher in the Galaxy Tab S (2560*1600) than the iPad Air (2048*1536).

Users are in for a visual delight when it comes to using the Galaxy Tab S as it has a Super AMOLED display, which brings pictures to life & this helps in achieving a higher PPI of 359 & 287 in the 8.4-inch & the 10.5-inch versions respectively, which is significantly higher than the iPad Air. AMOLED display also helps users to experience clear pictures, even under bright sunlight. Adaptive display also ensures that the user’s visual experience is smoothly adjusted according to the environment.

Camera, OS & User Experience: -

The Galaxy Tab S also has a powerful camera under its repertoire. With 8MP front camera, users can easily capture vivid images, while HD recording is also available. A 2.1 secondary camera also enables decent video-chatting capabilities. The iPad Air on the other hand has a 5MP primary camera & a 1.2MP secondary camera, which again puts the Galaxy Tab S ahead in terms of competition.

Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) complimented a plethora of apps & Google Play is bound to keep users hooked for hours at an end. Multitasking seems like child’s play thanks to the Galaxy Tab S’s Octa core processor & 3GB RAM. To promote the device, developers have also punched a number of free software subscriptions, perks & gifts with the tablet like movies, magazines, comic books among many others.

User interface is smooth as well & a 4900mAh battery helps extending this device’s running time significantly. The interface also contains multiple power saving options, which are also of a great help to a user. Though iOs 7 has substantial advantages of its own, the Galaxy Tab S gives it a stiff competition due to the sheer number of free apps & entertainment it brings to a user.

Overall, the Galaxy Tab S packs a lot of enjoyable features which makes it a serious contender in the tablet market & as it has clearly been stated above, it does beat the iPad Air on multiple fronts.
