The aim of Pottermore is to Combine community and business aspect. On this site devoted to Harry Potter fans will be able to navigate the character, but also buy the novels exclusively in digital format. J. K. Rowling has a sense of business. The author of volumes recounting the adventures of Harry Potter launch in October a portal that showcases the fans of the wizard. On this site, so they can discuss their favorite topic, discover new content on the saga, but also buy his new releases, including digital, to the chagrin of traditional booksellers.
Several publishers, including English Waterstone, are surprised by this new distribution policy J. K. Rowling, far away from the e-book: "We are disappointed that, having been the key factors in the growth of the Harry Potter phenomenon since the first book, the market is effectively excluded from the sale of the edition as expected digital versions.

Publishers and distributors shorted
Even his French publisher Gallimard was not aware of the new plan to conquer the Web writer: "We have no idea how this will happen. We have not yet been contacted by the agent of JK Rowling. The partnership announced is completely mysterious, and we do not know what is going to happen. And of course, exclusivity we have a problem, "said he ActuaLitté of our colleagues.
Amazon also suffer from this marketing method, since a spokesman Pottermore has confirmed that digital books will be available in all formats and DRM: "The decision to make digital books exclusive to the site was taken for s ensure an easy access to all playback devices and the wider community as possible, but also to support the intent of the site to be a reading experience online ". This new form of centralized marketing will therefore be a real loss to the largest digital bookstore in the world.
