In order to safeguard the interest of the Chrome users Google going to change the way usually we follow in downloading the add-ons and extensions for Google Chrome. In order to protect its users from malware, Google going to change from the beginning of 2014 and it will be a far reaching change.

As of January extensions for the browser can be installed only on the official Chrome Web Store. This step announced by the Chrome team now in a blog entry. The developers are forced to take this step, as always supposedly useful add-ons are offered that actually contain malicious code, according to their blog statement.

However, the change is meant for protecting the users and to experience the safer browsing experience, but also more patronizing. In the future it will be difficult or impossible to install Chrome extensions that are a thorn in Google.

These include some popular proxy tools; for example, enable the viewing of YouTube videos that would otherwise be blocked for other country users. The new guidelines for the download of Chrome extensions to be applied for the new version browsers that are going to be released in 2014.
