Japanese scientists have developed a fascinating device to hold various objects levitating using ultrasound; And make them move in the air!. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have recently developed a device for moving small objects to in the air particles.

The technique is not new since scientists have already succeeded in floating drops of water in the air using sound waves very recently. In this case, the novelty is that these particles and objects are most electronic components move with ultrasound!

In their study, Yoichi Ochiai, Takayuki Hoshi and Jun Rekimoto explained that they are handling system has two original features.

One is the direction of the ultrasound beam, which is arbitrary, as the force acting in the direction of the center is also used. The other is the principle of operation by which a standing wave generated is localized at an arbitrary position and movable in three dimensions by ultrasonic matrices and with opposite phase. They experimentally confirmed that different materials can be handled by their proposed method.

The experience of Japanese researchers is really interesting! It's crazy to see small objects like these float in the air just through sound vibrations. We would like to see whether this method can also float large objects and see them dance in the air.
